Check out our great range of souvenir hand painted Aboriginal Bull Roarers.
The Bullroarer was traditionally only used by men and was used as a communicator over long distances or as a musical accompaniment with the didgeridoo in rituals. When swung forcibly above the head in a circular motion it creates an eerie whirring sound, which becomes louder and more forceful as it is swung faster and faster. Some believed the whirring sound was the voice of the Rainbow Serpent. Some Aborigine's call it the wife caller.
