Steve Parish is a photojournalist and a book publisher who first became interested in nature at the age of 9. When he was 16 his fascination in marine life grew as he followed his mentor Igo Oak into the sea as an underwater photographer.
A few years later Steve travelled the world as a photojournalist. In 1985 he started his own company called Steve Parish Publishing. He has since branched out into photographing all kinds of Australian wildlife such as birds, mammals, reptiles and frogs.
“Educating others was my primary objective in starting the company. It wasn't just about taking spectacular images, although that is extremely rewarding, too. It was about promoting an understanding for the importance of nature. The first step has to be to light a fire in someone — inspire them to learn more, inspire them to genuinely become one with nature, urge them to connect with it and to celebrate its beauty and diversity. Then let’s talk about saving it.”
Here you will find an extensive range of travel guides, fact books, children’s books, baby books and stationery all with an Australiana flavor.
